Welcome to Kids Harbor Learning Center
As a director, I'd like to tell you about myself and all the wonderful new opportunities available for you and your family here at Kids Harbor Learning Center of St. Lucie County Home of the little Sailors.
My career is my passion. I have been working in the childcare field since 1999 and I absolutely love what I do .
I am a mother of three exceptional children. Israel, 19 years old who is active in the Navy; Helen, a 6 years old who love Dramatic Arts, and Hector, a 4 years old who love to play football. I have lived in the Port St. Lucie area since 2010 with my husband Dr. Hector De la Morena.
I was born in Cuba in 1976, and I came to United State when I was 22 years old.
I will like to give special thanks to my husband, my mother, my sister, and my friends for being part of this dream, I could not have done it without you guys!!!
I started my working career in Child Care field when my oldest son was one year old. I immediately fell in love with Early Childhood and continued my education towards my Associate Degree in Science.
Kids Harbor is a Dream come true in my family, and is here to provide a safe, healthy and educational environment where children can discover and develop their unique abilities.

• That children are precious and must receive care from adults who are capable and caring--whose values
enable them to be excellent role models.
• That children should experience numerous positive learning milestones, leading to an increased sense of
competence and independence.
• That children's play is extremely vital to healthy physical development, acceptable social skills, and
• That teachers, drawing upon their training and experience, must create an appropriate educational
environment which carefully guides children from one developmental level to another.
• That parents contribute to and enhance the quality of care offered at Kids Harbor Learning Center.
Kids Harbor Learning Center welcomes those of diverse faiths, ethnic origins, and race. While diversity may include different faiths, gender roles, socioeconomic status, and ethnicity it is not limited to just these areas. We believe that diversity also includes the different physical, cognitive, and social abilities that one possesses. We strive to create a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that not only reflects each child’s unique abilities but also encompasses their home culture and experiences as well. One of the most important things that we can do to teach our children about diversity is through role modeling that all people are treated with kindness and respect.
At Kids Harbor Learning Center children are gently encouraged to discover their individual strengths and unique talents. We believe that each child possesses a marvelous capacity to learn. Learning is best accomplished in a place that is emotionally secure, physically safe, and fun!
The curriculum is based on our knowledge that children learn best through their first-hand sensory experiences of feeling, listening, tasting, smelling, and observing. Children need to handle, manipulate, experiment, and explore. They also need and expect certain guidelines, rules, and routines in order to feel safe and secure. It is our task to provide various materials and learning opportunities as well as the protective controls that children need for optimal learning. Activities are planned around age-appropriate objectives and units. In addition to the daily classroom routine, planned by the teacher and the children, our curriculum also includes language , music, and creative movement. We use The Learn Every Day Curriculum.
Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching them what counts is best.
